What Are the 4 C’s?

The 4 C’s stand for Consumer, Costs, Convenience and Communications. They have a lot of similarities with the 4 P’s (Price, Product, Promotion, Place) and in some ways, they are all already included, but it also has to be said that communication is probably the single C that has a great deal of importance regarding using this approach.

The interactions that take place between a company and its consumers online are very different from those in traditional marketing, even the way we have to approach customers is different and consumer behavior online and offline has been deeply affected by the world of the internet and online social interactions.

Nowadays, when we talk about the marketing mix, it is possible to find multiple relevant results, such as the 4 P’s.   It is also very likely that we’ll find comparisons between the 4 P’s and the 4 C’s, the latter also with some variants in the number of C’s, however, within the 4 P’s the essential elements of good marketing are contained and, from a professional standpoint, there is no ground for such debate between the P’s and the C’s other than the environment in which they will be used.

In a digital marketing environment, the C’s approach is much more efficient and yet it does not displace a good part of the elements of the P’s, so I would consider saying that the C’s become an indispensable complement to the digital marketing planning of a company, but not a complete replacement.
