Online Marketing for Product Appeal

June 28, 2021Internet MarketingBy Twelve12

Today we want to talk to you about the changes that customers have been experiencing since 2020. We all know what has been happening in the world and that we had to suddenly reinvent our way of doing business due to the Covid-19 crisis and the lockdowns. At Twelve12 we are always thinking about ways to help you improve your company, and this is why our online marketing team in Orange County wanted to share this information with you.

Where should you begin? “Always with the customer” is the correct answer, and for that, the AIDA model can be very helpful. AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. These are the stages that a person would go through during the purchase process. It sounds easy enough, but it is harder to achieve than you might think.

You need to keep in mind that your company is not the only one selling a product or service, so how can you attract the attention of your customer? And I mean, really turn heads around! All the steps are important, however, if you fail this first one, everything else will not matter at all.

Interest is the second stage and this is where we can show our potential customer why they shouldn’t consider any other option. Think about it as the piece of the puzzle that will show the customer something so attractive that they will focus their whole attention on your product or service.

Then comes the Desire. You caught them; you taunted them with the wow factor; now they have to have your product. You succeed in creating a desire. An analogy that is very easy to understand is to walk by a bakery; you are not paying attention to anything special, maybe you are a little hungry, and then your attention gets caught by the delicious aroma of fresh-baked bread. It stops you in your tracks as you look to find the source and you see a display of a variety of bread. This keeps your interest and you walk towards the display – and between the smell and the display, your desire to eat increases and you have to have a piece of that fragrant warm bread. You walk inside the bakery and buy even more than you need  – simply because it looks and smells so good.

Well, that last part is the Action – and that is our ultimate goal as marketers: to compel consumers to “go get it” as a reward – and you trigger that happy button in the brain that brings pleasure to the customer.

If you want to know more about how can you use the AIDA model for your online marketing strategies, give us a call today at Twelve12 and our online marketing team in Orange County will be delighted to help you.
