Branding Trends and Social Media

study

Understanding branding trends is not an easy task for most companies; it is even more complicated for small businesses to achieve an awesome branding strategy, but it is not impossible. That is why at Twelve12 we want to tell you a little more about Branding in Orange County and elsewhere and make your life easier.

Branding trends have been more or less stable for a few years now. Once we began to have access to more defined and specific information about our target audience and consumers, we have been able to focus our branding efforts more efficiently.

It is important to bear in mind that the brand of a company is an element that influences the customer’s purchase decision, which is our ultimate goal (at least for most companies). That is why brands of the same range of products often display similar colors, fonts, or graphic elements. This is not a coincidence; certain colors go hand in hand with previously learned emotions, and it is easier for the brain to make an association that works for a company by using the same elements.

Having said this, we will do a recount of some of the current trends within the branding universe…

Having a purpose beyond the sale has become a fundamental aspect of modern branding. People are much more willing to pay for a product, even more than the expected price, simply because part of it goes to a noble cause, whatever that may be. Users can feel part of something important and the price of the product includes that extra feeling of having contributed in a meaningful way.

Another important trend is the use of social media and, with this, we must be well aware of the type of audience that our target represents – and the type of messages that we send to the network. By this, I mean that some brands can be very creative, disruptive, and even go to the limit of what is wrong, yet have a positive outcome, especially if it is a brand created for young people. On the contrary, if we are talking about a serious brand, with audiences such as seniors, or businesses such as hospitals or high-end banks, having a community manager who decides to joke with clients about their finances or their health may not be a great idea.

So, these are just a few examples of trends that can help you develop your branding strategies.
